Well, we had a heck of a time. It was a last minute decision to take the trip and we were originally planning on going to the Outer Banks since we both had the week off work. But, after doing some thinking we decided not to pass up such a great deal and caved.

The only down side to the trip was we had a couple stop overs going there and back which is never fun, but everything worked out in the end.

We left on Tuesday on the red eye and arrived in SF at around lunch time, we checked into our hotel in Fishermans Wharf (the tourist trap!) and visited the Wharf and the Aquarium and crashed pretty early after getting some dinner at Hooters (of all places …). The next morning we were up early because of the time change and spent a couple hours mozying around Maritime Aquatic Park and got some breakfast at Loris Diner. It was a rad view and pretty relaxing. Afterward we caught a bus up to Lombard St., walked over to the St Peter & Pauls Cathedral and up to Coit Tower, after that it was back down the hill through some pretty gardens and lots of steps to The Market. We had lunch there and planned out our next couple days. After lunch we headed to Alcatraz, I was a little disappointed, it was cool to see but found it fairly boring and a little bit tired. After the Alcatraz trip we cruised around the piers and got some dinner at Hard Rock. Thursday got a little bit more interesting when we headed over to Saulsalito a small town on the other side of the Golden Gate bridge, we caught the ferry over and spent the morning enjoying the shops and a couple art galleries. We also ate some lunch at a small italian place (great pizza) and headed back on the bus to SF Golden Gate Park. It was fairly rushed because we got there late but we still had time to enjoy the California Academy of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Gardens. These were def. 2 of my favorite places, both were fun but we wished the weather would have co-operated a little bit better. That night we ate dinner at a small seafood place on one the docks called Scoma’s, it was pretty good.

Friday was a full day trip down to Montery and Carmel. I was great going down US 1 and we enjoyed the sights and sounds. SF landscape and people are a lot different to what I thought it was going to be, so I am glad we got to experience it. Whats up with the Asians attitudes?????

After the trip we got out the bus in downtown and walked the streets a little bit before catching a cable car back to our hotel.

That evening (actually night by the time we got back) we relaxed and started packing, saturday morning we got onto our first flight at 11:00am and after 3 more got home at 12:00pm! ….

Overall, it was fun. I would consider living there but with property prices that high, doubt its going to happen … and then there’s the earthquake factor ….
